Accompanist
David Woodhouse was born near Coventry. He became a choral scholar in Coventry Cathedral Choir, and was educated at King Henry VIII School, Coventry, and York University.
After graduating with a B.A. (Hons.) in Music with Education he took a P.G.C.E. at Birmingham Polytechnic.
After teaching for two years in Birmingham, he and his family moved to Iceland where they worked for four years.
David's main role was that of piano teacher, but he also became head of the local music school, played keyboard in a pop band, and was organist and choirmaster of the local church choir which made an appearance on Icelandic National Radio.
In 1986 David returned to England, to take up a music teaching post at Nottingham High School, which he relinquished in the summer of 2002 in order to take up a piano teaching post at Trent College.
Since his return to England David has been conductor of the Ravenshead Choral Society, appeared as a solo singer with various groups, (including St Mary's Concert under John Keys and the Ruddington & District Choral Society) adjudicated at local music festivals and accompanied a number of fairly prominent local artists.
David is currently the conductor of Ruddington & District Choral Society, a post he has held since 2006 having served as accompanist since 1998. In May of this year he was also appointed accompanist of the Nottingham Hospitals' Choir. He and his wife help to lead the worship at their local Church in Eastwood.
His interests outside music include sport, the internet and chess.
