Musical Director
Nicholas was appointed Musical Director of the Nottingham Hospitals choir in May 2006, having been their accompanist and Assistant Musical Director for several years.
His musical interests are wide ranging and include playing piano, organ and oboe as well as singing with The Newstead Abbey Singers. He also plays percussion with the Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra and is Musical Director of the Choir at the Church of the Assumption in Beeston.
He studied Piano under Michael Grantham, Organ under Kendrick Partingon and Jonathon Hellyer Jones, and Oboe with Tony and Anne Allcock, Janet Nabarro and Graham Pfaff.
Since Graduating in 1998 with Honours from Anglia Polytechnic University, in Cambridge, and returning to Nottingham, Nicholas has worked full time at local specialist music shop, Windblowers.
He has toured extensively as a musician to far flung places. Particularly memorable are tours to Australia and the Far East, Washington DC and New York (both with University) and closer to home, Menorca, France, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic.
He has been involved in performances of Chess, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Brigadoon and Oklahoma! with local schools and Greasepaint Productions in Loughborough.
Nicholas, in his copious spare time (!) does have non musical interests which include eating out and fine wines!
